Every playlist tells a story, and I aim to recognize this. For nearly all of the ones I've made, I have tried to pay attention to the listening experience — the mood of each song, the pace and energy of each track, the sound, all of that. It reminds me of what it must have felt like back in the days of mixtapes and CDs, where you had to be deliberate in which songs made the cut and went where on the limited storage. Additionally, I should know all of the songs I added, because what fun is it to create a playlist and not even like the songs you add?
* A note on platforms: I, personally, use YouTube Music, so all that's where all the links on this page go. These playlists can also be accessed on normal YouTube. Sorry, Spotify users :(
These playlists are close in length to the 80-minute maximum that audio CDs restrict you to. For me, this makes me think more critically about the songs I add and where.
